Lorraine Bernice Anderson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 27, 1924, to Alex and Della (Asmund) Hamari. The family lived in Minneapolis until Lorraine was 10 years old, then moved to New York Mills. Lorraine graduated High School there in New York Mills. After high school Lorraine moved back to Minneapolis where she worked as a waitress, then went to Leaf Brothers where she was a pay roll clerk. She also worked for a time for the Sheet Metal Workers Union as a pay roll clerk.
Lorraine married Andrew Daniel Anderson, on August 30, 1945 in Minneapolis. To this Union 6 children were born. They made their home in Minneapolis first, then in 1955 moved to Bethel where they stayed for 43 years, then to Cokato Minnesota.
Lorraine enjoyed birds, did a little rug weaving and puzzles, she volunteered for 13 years at Wright County Community Action in Waverly. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Most of all she enjoyed her family and friends.
Lorraine passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital after heart surgery on May 13, 2017. She had reached the age of 92 years, 7 months and 27 days.
Survivors include her children: Barbara (John) Lehto of Cokato, Les Anderson of Gladstone, Oregon, Karen (Tom) Aho of Cokato, Dave (Sylvia) Anderson of Virginia, Minnesota, and Bob (Ruth) Anderson of Cokato. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother Roy Hamari of Palm Springs, California.
Lorraine is preceded in death by: her parents Alex and Della, Husband Andrew, Brother Clarion, Son Fred Anderson and Grandson
Dane Anderson.
