Mark Peterson
I was raised in Cokato, graduated from Cokato High School, and have chosen to raise my family in this community. I grew up in the Swanson Peterson Funeral Home. I married my high school sweetheart, Marilyn, and we have two children, Greg and Brooke.
I earned my funeral director’s license in 1985 and joined my father, George, in the funeral service profession. Together, we purchased the Howard Lake Funeral Home in 1988 and have truly enjoyed serving the people of Howard Lake ever since. They have made us feel right at home and we now feel that we are a part of the community.
I have come to appreciate the small town way of life. It was a great place to grow up, a wonderful way to raise a family, and the best place to have a business that provides a very important service to the people that you know and see every day.
Greg Peterson
Greg is the third generation of Peterson funeral directors at the Swanson Peterson Funeral Homes, the son of Mark. I grew up in the Cokato and Howard Lake area, graduating from Dassel-Cokato High School.
I went to Hamline University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Exercise and Sports Science. Upon deciding to join my father and grandfather, I went on to the University of Minnesota to earn my Bachelors of Science Degree in Mortuary Science.
I am excited to be back working and living in my hometown area. I look forward to carrying on the tradition of Swanson Peterson Funeral Homes as a family owned and operated establishment for many years to come.
