Welle, Donald James
age 82 of Cokato, passed away on December 15, 2017 at Cokato Manor. He was born December 24, 1934 in St. Cloud, MN to Louis and Magdelena Welle. Donnie was the youngest of 8 children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School. Donnie served his country in the United States Army for two years, stationed in Germany. Returning home, he was united in marriage to Judy Sursely in 1958. This union was blessed with two children, Sandra and Michael. They made their home in Cokato, where Donnie was the manager of for several different grocery stores.
Donnie was a member of the Cokato Lions, an avid golfer, and woodworker. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years. He and Judy were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.
He is survived by his children, Sandra (Cary) Linder of Cokato, and Michael (Rosemary) Welle of Brownwood, TX, 6 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, Judy, and siblings.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017, 4-7 PM and continuing 1 hour prior to services, all at the Funeral Home. www.swansonpeterson.com 320-286-2534

Pieti, Robert “Bob” Donald 69
Bob Pieti of Sun City, Arizona, passed away at the home of his step daughter in Delano on November 22, 2017, at the age of 69,years, 9 months, and 12 days.
Funeral Service: 4 PM Sunday November 26, 2017 at Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church, 5939 Oliver Avenue SW, Cokato, Minnesota
Visitation: Begins at 2PM on Sunday at Church.
Robert “Bob” Donald Pieti was born on February 10, 1948 in Highland Park, Michigan to Edwin and Irma Norma Ingrid (Isaacson) Pieti. He grew up in Southfield, Michigan, and graduated from Southfield High School in 1966. After high school he went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in business at Michigan Tech.
Bob worked first at the White Pine Mine in Michigan as an auditor; he then went to work at Michigan Tech, as a university administrator. He then worked at Ray Dot in Cokato, Minnesota, and finally at Edward Jones in Minnesota, as a Financial Advisor.
On February 27, 1993 Bob married Kathleen (Bergstrom) Haataja. The couple was married in Cokato, Doug Halonen officiated. They made their home on Spring Lake in Dassel, Minnesota first, then Laguna Vista, Texas, and 11 years ago moved to Sun City, Arizona.
Bob had many hobbies among them were writing memoirs, history and also grants, he worked on the Keweenaw National Park at Calumet, Michigan and was instrumental in the parks development. Bob was also a minister at his church in Arizona.
Bob passed away suddenly at the home of his step daughter Carolyn (Paul) Kivisto in Delano, Minnesota. He had reached the age of 69 years, 9 months and 12 years. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Irma Pieti, and brothers; Clyde and Paul.
Survivors include: wife Kathleen of Sun City, Arizona. Brother David (Patricia) Pieti of Littleton, Colorado, sister-in-law Virginia Pieti of Farmington Hills, Michigan. Step children: Robert (Sara) Haataja of Cokato, Steven (Laura) Haataja of Cokato, Carolyn (Paul) Kivisto of Delano, Kenneth (Emily) Haataja of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Thomas (Teri) Haataja of Watertown, Minnesota, and Jeanne (Marc) Koskela of Lake Linden, Michigan. 40 grand children. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Stenberg, David Joel 56
David Joel Stenberg, age 56, of Howard Lake, was born at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, and died Thursday Nov. 16th, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society – Howard Lake.
He was an avid mechanic, clock smith, fisherman, gardener, and aficionado of classic rock.
Family and friends truly loved being with Dave and sharing conversation, humor, music, and life. He instilled in those who knew him an appreciation for the beauty of music, nature, and positive living.
Dave is survived by his son, Nathan, Minneapolis; mother, Kathryn Stenberg, Howard Lake; brothers, Steve (Joni) Stenberg, Waukesha, WI, and Tom Stenberg, Howard Lake; sisters, Kim (Brian) Beecken, Blaine, and Julie (Dan) Kleve, Howard Lake, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Sydney Stenberg; nephew, Christopher Stenberg, and niece, Madeysen Kleve.

Paulson, Patricia Ann 87
Patricia Ann Paulson, was born on February 27, 1930, in Manna, Minnesota to Frank and Nellie Blanch (Sisson) Tintes. She grew up in Manna, Dassel and Litchfield. She married Kenneth Paulson on March 6, 1948. They made their home on a farm by Hutchinson. Retired to Florida later in life. And eventually returned to Hutchinson.
Patricia worked at 3M, Tonka Toys, Telex, and Green Giant. She enjoyed camping, and the outdoors.
Patricia passed away on November 9, 2017, at Cokato Manor, she had reached the age of 87 years, 8 months and 12 days.
She is survived by her children: Robert (Joan) Paulson of Silver Lake, Barbara (Richard) Kraft of Stillwater, Mark (Beverly) Paulson of New Germany, Michael Paulson of Hutchinson, Eugene (Diana) Skoog of Bird Island. Several grand and great grand children. Brother Jim Nelson of Hutchinson, Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at The Cokato Manor Chapel. Time of fellowship to follow.

Christofferson, Karen Pearl 74
Karen Christofferson, age 74, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins, MN. A memorial service will be held at Lake Union Covenant Church Monday, November 20 at 11am, with Pastor Mark Andrews and Pastor Lloyd Melvie officiating. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, French Lake Township.
Karen Pearl Christofferson was born in Minneapolis January 20, 1943, to Bert and Pearl (Salmela) Hultgren. She was baptized at home by Rev. Lassie Stohl and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church by Rev. Marlotte. She attended schools in Onamia, Torrance, CA, and north Minneapolis and graduated from North High School in 1961. Karen and David Christofferson were united in marriage May 11, 1963, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in north Minneapolis. They made their home in Burnsville from 1969 to 2000, when they moved to their Lake Francis home. They were blessed with two sons, Bruce and Brian.
She is survived by her beloved family: David, her husband of 54 years; sons Bruce (Lisa) of South Haven and Brian (Julie) of Shakopee, four grandchildren, Amelia, Zachary, Will and Greta, and five nephews and their families. She was preceded by her mother and step-father, Pearl and Fred Hermann; father, Bert Hultgren, brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Judy (Walberg) Hultgren; and father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Beulah Christofferson.
Karen was employed as a long-distance operator at Northwestern Bell, clerk typist at Honeywell, and executive secretary at Control Data before becoming a stay-at-home mom, school and church volunteer, and caregiver to family members. She was volunteer secretary of Immanuel Lutheran Church, French Lake, and the Immanuel Cemetery Board for over 20 years, and secretary of the Annandale History Club for 13 years. She served on the the Wright County Historical Society board of directors for 6 years, and was a member of the Cokato Historical Society, Cokato Finnish-American Historical Society and many other historical societies. She took a special interest in local history and co-authored a Lake Francis history book and Immanuel Lutheran Church centennial book and wrote many stories for the Annandale History Club on the Annandale Online website. She enjoyed the beauty of nature, Bible study, West Central Christian Seniors meetings, a Monday breakfast group and Friday dinner group, crossword puzzles, and coffee at Lantto’s store. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Memorials may be given to Lake Union Evangelical Covenant Church.
