Klammer, Norman Edward 97

Norman Edward Klammer, age 97, formerly of Montrose, died on SUNDAY, September 30, 2018, at Good Samaritan in Howard Lake, MN.
Norman was born September 3, 1921, to Edward and Della (Wilding) Klammer. His first home was on a farm north of Montrose near Crawford Lake. His family moved to the farm north of Waverly when he was 7-years-old where he lived over 75 years. He then came full circle to live in an apartment in Montrose managed by the granddaughter of neighbors from Crawford Lake.
Norman was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake where he was baptized and confirmed. He was part of the crew who build one of St. John’s earlier church buildings.

Norman spent most of his career as a dairy farmer. He was particularly proud to serve as a Supervisor for Marysville Township for over ten years. He had plowed snow for the township for three years, so he knew the roads and pretty much everyone who lived there.

He loved to travel, go to threshing shows around the state, and built many go-carts out of old lawn mower engines to the delight of his children. His favorite dog, Skipper, enjoyed going coon hunting and riding on the tractor with Norman.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, with Pastor Paul Koch officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
