Bakeberg, Thomas Edward
age 71, of Howard Lake, MN passed away suddenly at his home on April 17, 2017. He was born September 7, 1945 in Cokato, MN to Roy and Alice (Hess) Bakeberg. Tom was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake and graduated in 1964 from Howard Lake High School. He was united in marriage to Linda on May 12, 1979 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. Tom drove truck for many years, mostly for Tonka Toys. He later retired from Industrial Louvers in Delano, MN.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin that he built. He also liked word finds, puzzles, and biking. Tom would always find a good deal at a garage sale or antique store. He would never miss an opportunity to watch his grandchildren playing sports.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, daughter, Tamara (David) Johnson, son Steven (Sue) Bakeberg, grandchildren, Jillian, Allysa, Jennifer, Nicholas, and Jacob, sisters, Donna Boettcher, Laverne Krohn, brothers, Bill (Sandy), Don (Char), and Roy (Linda) Bakeberg.
Preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Alice, and brother in-law Orville Krohn.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, with gathering of family and friends beginning at noon at the church.
