Cacka, Joyce Marie 66


Joyce Marie Cacka age 66 of Litchfield, Minnesota, formerly of Silver Lake, passed away November 12, 2018 at her home.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato, on Friday November 16, 2018, 5-8 PM

She was born December 5, 1951 in Hutchinson to Florian and Bernice (Wawrzyniak) Fiecke of Winsted.
Joyce grew up in Winsted, attended elementary school at Holy Trinity Catholic School, and then attended Howard Lake High School.
Joyce was united in Marriage to Dennis Cacka on April 26, 1969 their marriage was blessed with three children, Kari, Jean, and David.
Dennis and Joyce lived north of Silver Lake and engaged in farming until 1990, they then moved to their present home near Lake Minnebelle in Litchfield.
She had worked at Plasti-Fab EPS Product Solutions formally Poly Foam in Lester Prairie from April 1989 to August 2017.
She enjoyed collecting owl figuriens, planting a garden and flowers in the spring, her favorite flowers where wave petunias. She also enjoyed puzzles, word search, country music and watching the Vikings.
Joyce is survived by Dennis her husband of 49 years, daughters Kari (James) Klima, and Jean (Jason) Horrmann of Silver Lake, grandsons: Eric Klima, Jacob Klima and Carl Horrmann. Son David Cacka and his family of Hutchinson. Brother and sister in Law: Dale & Maggie Cacka, Sisters Marlyce (Pat) Fistman and Linda Fiecke. Many nieces and Nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Florian & Bernice Fiecke, Parents-in-law Edward & Angeline Cacka.

Martinson, Mayme Annabell 100

Mayme Annabell Martinson, 100, of Cokato, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Mayme was born on May 4, 1918 in Minneapolis to Harry and Anna (Anderson) Schultz. She graduated from North High School in the middle of
the “Great Depression”. Unable to go to college, she went to work at Strutwear Knitting Mill and helped support the family. She married Donald Martinson on January 24, 1942. While he was off to war, she continued to work in Minneapolis. When Donald returned from his Navy service, they moved to Cokato where he owned and operated the Cokato Cement Works.
Music was always a very important part of her life, singing in choral groups and some solo work. She felt very privileged to sing in the community production of “The Messiah” in 2005. She said, “I could belt it out with the rest of them”. She volunteered in many ways throughout her life in the community, church and Elementary school and was a part of many organizations as well. Mayme was an avid reader and was a whiz at crossword puzzles and scrabble.
She is survived by children, Alan (Pat) of Forest Lake, Steven of Parkers Prairie, Ann (Ron) Sauter of Lakeville, Philip (Teresa) of Cokato; grandchildren, Kim, Chris, Josh, Linnea and Laura; brothers, Raymond and Russell and sister, Evelyn; many other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Anna Schultz, husband, Donald, brother, Kenneth, sister, Beatrice and grandchild, Heather.
Memorials suggested to American Refuge Committee and World Hunger.
A celebration of Mayme’s life will take place at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church and followed by internment at the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Cokato. Constenius, Frank “Richard” 85

Richard Constenius of Cokato passed away suddenly at the Hutchinson Hospital on October 12, 2018
Memorial Service 4:30 PM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at The Cokato Township Hall.
Visitation: Begins at the Cokato Township Hall on Thursday at 2 PM.
Interment: 5 PM with Military Honors at the Cokato Finnish Cemetery.
Frank “Richard” Constenius was born on March 21, 1933 to Frank and Siama (Alapeteri) Constenius in Cokato Township, Minnesota. The family moved to Floodwood and Richard grew up there to age 13 then moved back to Cokato. As a young man he worked the harvest and for several ranchers and farmers here and in the Dakota’s.
Richard went on to work as a merchant seaman on the Great Lakes, first as a coal passer and then an oiler. On October 15, 1954 Richard entered service in the United States Army; he served as a machine gunner in the 16th Infantry until honorable discharge on October 12, 1956. After service Richard returned to his job as a merchant seaman until 1959. He then worked construction.
In 1961 Richard married Betty Johnson Kotila. He then took a job at the armory in Arden Hills. After a time, there he drove truck and also worked for Cokato Township until retirement.
Richard had many hobbies: snowmobiling, motor cycling, deer hunting, and fishing. He was an avid Viking fan, he enjoyed politics and working on cars. Richard had a good sense of humor and loved pulling pranks. And Most of all he enjoyed his family and friends.
Frank “Richard” Constenius passed away suddenly on October 12, 2018 at the emergency room of the Hutchinson Hospital. He had reached the age of 85 years, 6 months and 21 days.
Survivors include; wife Betty, step son Kenny (Joanne) Kotila. Sons; Brian (Carol) Constenius and Garrett Constenius. 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Daughter in law Carolyn Kotila. Siblings; Helen Benson, and Carol Cannizzio.
Richard is preceded in death by: his parents Frank and Siama, step son Leslie Kotila, Sister Janet and brothers Roger and Rueben.

Anderson, Viola Mildred 95

Viola Mildred (Thor) Anderson age 95 died on Sunday September 30 at the Cokato Manor. She had been a resident for five years. Born to Oscar and Pauline (Meth) Thor in Wilton, North Dakota she attended Grass Lake School. After graduation from Wilton High School she became part of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps and enrolled in the nursing program at Bismarck Evangelical Hospital. In 1945 she attained her RN license and worked in various hospitals including: Midway (St. Paul), Cokato (until it closed), and Buffalo Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1988.
Viola was a long time member of the North Crow River Lutheran Church. Her faith and love for Jesus were evident to all who knew her. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends, gardening, traveling, and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband- Wayland Anderson, sisters-Sadie Thor, Erma Sundblad, and Rose Marie Rosenau. Survivors include sister- Helma Rogers, children-Cheryl Anderson (Rochester, MN) Brian (Fern) Anderson (Eau Claire, WI) grandchildren Ben (Hannah), Joel (Abby), Gretchen, Darren, Rachel, Connor, great-grandson Levi Anderson, brother-in-law Ron (Glorian) Anderson and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at North Crow River Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be 5-7 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 and continue 1 hour prior to the services at church on Thursday.

Klammer, Norman Edward 97

Norman Edward Klammer, age 97, formerly of Montrose, died on SUNDAY, September 30, 2018, at Good Samaritan in Howard Lake, MN.
Norman was born September 3, 1921, to Edward and Della (Wilding) Klammer. His first home was on a farm north of Montrose near Crawford Lake. His family moved to the farm north of Waverly when he was 7-years-old where he lived over 75 years. He then came full circle to live in an apartment in Montrose managed by the granddaughter of neighbors from Crawford Lake.
Norman was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake where he was baptized and confirmed. He was part of the crew who build one of St. John’s earlier church buildings.

Norman spent most of his career as a dairy farmer. He was particularly proud to serve as a Supervisor for Marysville Township for over ten years. He had plowed snow for the township for three years, so he knew the roads and pretty much everyone who lived there.

He loved to travel, go to threshing shows around the state, and built many go-carts out of old lawn mower engines to the delight of his children. His favorite dog, Skipper, enjoyed going coon hunting and riding on the tractor with Norman.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, with Pastor Paul Koch officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
