Kenneth Edwin Marohn was born April 14, 1934, to Edwin and Esther (Goerke) Marohn. Ken was born on the home farm in Middleville Township north of Howard Lake. He passed away at Mercy Hospital at the age of 86 years, on September 14, 2020.
He was baptized and confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church and graduated from Annandale High School in 1952.
He joined the United States Navy and served for four years, spending most of his service time on the carriers. Upon honorable discharge he worked in San Salvador as an electronic technician for RCA for two years. He also worked for Control Data for about 20 years while farming north of Howard Lake.
Ken was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, Edwin and Esther, and his brother Ronald. He is survived by his brother Norman (Toots), brother William (Kay) and sister Jeanette (Vernon Beckala) and sister-in-law Alice Marohn. Other survivors also include his 13 nieces and nephews, John and Eddie Marohn and Lisa (Jim Spitz); Dawnine Beckala, Jamie (Denise) and Chad (Denise) and Stacy (Michael Blackmun); Terri (Lon Spangrud), Keith Marohn, Heather (Scott Ludwig); Sarah (Nathan Miller), Jennifer (Chad Haas), and Holly (Scott Wellman); as well as friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township, Annandale, Minnesota. Robinson, Mary Ann 75
Mary Ann Robinson died peacefully July 10, 2020 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home of Howard Lake. Mary was born December 9th, 1944 and reached the age of 75 years. Mary was the daughter of the late Hugo and Alma Robinson and sister to James Robinson and wife, Susan of Creal Springs, IL.
Mary lived all her life on the family farm South of Howard Lake graduating from Howard Lake High School in 1963. She graduated from St. Cloud State and was a coach, substitute teacher and secretary to the Athletic Director until her retirement from Howard Lake Waverly Winsted Schools in 2013 after 35 years. Mary was an avid HLWW Lakers fan along with the MN Twins, Vikings, Woman’s Gopher and Lynx basketball teams. Mary was baptized, confirmed and was an active life long member of the Presbyterian Church of Howard Lake. Her hobbies included gardening and the growing and arranging of gladiolus. She was an active member in the MN Gladiolus Society. Mary also enjoyed knitting, quilting, her dogs and making Lefsa.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Alma Robinson. Uncles and Aunts Hubert (Alma) Robinson and Elmer (Ardis) Robinson and Ardis (Edward) Munson. She leaves to mourn her brother, James Robinson, and cousins Terry Robinson , Sheldon Robinson, Dennis Robinson, Carol (Robinson) Kramer and Diane (Munson) Luehring. Along with students and staff from her years at the school and many friends.
Arrangements are by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Internment with graveside service will be at Howard Lake Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM.

Forsberg, Maynard Dean 85
Maynard Dean Forsberg, age 85, passed away peacefully under hospice care at the Buffalo Glenn Memory Care facility on September 3, 2020.
Maynard was born April 17, 1935 at home on his family farm in rural Stockholm Township. He was the second of four children(Phyllis, Maynard, Nancy Dennis) born to Ernie and Pearl Forsberg. He was baptized and confirmed at Stockholm Lutheran Church. Maynard loved the farm life and enjoyed milking cows and working in the fields. Maynard said he always felt closest to God when he was alone on the tractor and was free to sing and pray!
Maynard went to Collins Country School for grades 1-8 and graduated from Dassel High School in 1953. He loved music and had a good singing voice, often called on to sing in weddings or church. Maynard was in the church and school choirs, played trumpet in the band and enjoyed playing his accordion with friend, Don Lundborg. After high school went to the University of MN, later transferring to Luther Jr. College in Wahoo, NE. In August of 1967 Maynard married Sandra Bergen, a music teacher at Cokato Schools, with their union lasting four years.
Maynard drove truck hauling peas and corn during canning time for the local factories, which paved the way for him to continue in the trucking business with Teske and Gambles for many years. He bought a custom made Peterbilt Semi-Tractor and began his career as an Over the Road Trucker and was very proud of his millions of miles logged and very few accidents. Maynard took exceptionally good care of his prize truck, which was second only to his beloved Chevy pickup.
Maynard was an avid flower gardener and loved nature and the beautiful scenery as he drove through on his trucking tours. He grew stunning roses at his home in Champlin, MN with many of his rose bushes being passed on to family members. Maynard loved being part of the Champlin/Anoka community and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka.
Maynard was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Pearl Forsberg, sister Phyllis Terning, Brother-in-law Marlin Terning, brother Dennis Forsberg and nephew Kevin Terning. Maynard is survived by his sister Nancy (Rollie) Severson,sister -in-law Mary Forsberg, cousins and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His family is very thankful for the loving care Maynard received the past 3 years from the staff of The Glenn Assisted Living and Memory Care in Buffalo, MN.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Highland Community Church 13800 US-12 SW, Cokato, MN 55321 on Thursday, September 24th at 11:00, Interment will be at Stockholm Lutheran Cemetery following the lunch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Hospice Foundation or the charity of your choice in memory of Maynard.

Hedlund, Nancy Faye 76
Nancy Faye Hedlund, age 76, of Kingston, MN died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on August 27, 2020. Nancy was born on June 16, 1944 to Loyal and Noraine Pallies in St. Cloud, MN. Her family moved to Kingston where she met Darrel Hedlund. They were united in marriage on October 27, 1962 and made their home in Kingston. The union was blessed with three children. She enjoyed shopping, vacationing, flowers, and playing cards. Most importantly spending time with her family, having family gatherings, and going to their events. She loved all animals, rescuing them, and especially her cat Daisy.
Proceeded in death by her parents, brother Loyal, brother Larry, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Survived by her husband, Darrel, children, Todd (Jessica) Hedlund of Kingston, Michelle (Jeff) Swenson of Dassel, Thad (Karen) Hedlund of Kingston, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Koivisto, Joel Gordon 66
Joel Gordon Koivisto, age 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 23, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease.
Funeral service: 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church 74537 240th Street, Dassel, MN.
Visitation: 4-8 PM, Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the church and one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Thursday, at Cokato Finnish Cemetery.
Joe was born on March 19, 1954, in Cokato, the son of the late Oswald and Lempi (Aho) Koivisto. He was raised in Cokato and graduated from Cokato High school with the class of 1972. Joe worked his entire career in the telecommunication industry. He was a lifelong member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church. On June 16, 1973 he married Sandra Torola in Cokato.
Joe is survived by his wife, Sandy, children, Shari (Mark) Randell, Leanne (Cory) Peterson, Amy (Kevin) Isaacson, Tim (Trista), Laura Kangas, Davin Kangas, Mike (Shana), Dan (Lynne), Chrissy (Brett) Salmen, Steven (Jennie), Ryan (Paige) and Mary, 36 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, Virginia (Wendell) Huotari, James, Paul (Ruth), Mark (Paula), Dave (Josie), Maria (Mark) Jarvie, John and Karen. He is further survived by his father and mother- in law, Robert and Lorraine Torola, the Torola family, numerous other relatives, friends, and brothers and sisters in faith.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Philip.
