Landwehr, Elizabeth 70


Elisabeth Landwehr was born on June 6, 1945 in Wright County, Minnesota. She was married in 1979 and had one daughter, Cecelia. Beth belonged to the Disabled American Vets Auxiliary. She was well loved by those who knew her and will be sadly missed. After a short illness, she peacefully passed away at Sterling Park Health Care in St. Cloud, Minnesota on March 14, 2016. Beth is survived by her daughter Cece and son-in-law, Matt Aho. Two sisters-Susie Bye and Elsie Magsam. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Cecilia Schumann, two brothers Robert and Archie and one sister Rosemary.

Mark Matt Vogelsang was born December 15, 1966 in St. Cloud, Minnesota and baptized there. He was confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. Attending Howard Lake-Waverly High School he graduated in 1986 and furthered his education at Hutch Tech receiving a degree in Electronics & Automotive.

He was highly intelligent in the field of electronics and would take things apart just to see how they worked. Currently he was employed by Pentair in New Brighton. He enjoyed playing video games, going to movies, listening to music, taking photos and traveling.

It was on March 11, 2016 that Mark passed away at the age of 49 years, 3 months and 25 days.

Mark is survived by his father and mother Gerald and Donna Vogelsang; siblings Brian (Jan) Vogelsang, Nancy (Doug) Neumann, Darlyce Vogelsang (and Robert Smith), Janice (Steve) Edmonson; nephews and nieces Christina Roberts, Stacy Riemer, Aaron Neumann, Nick Neumann, Katie Heins, Amy Johnson, Adam Johnson, Amanda Edmonson and Stephanie Edmonson; and eighteen great-grandnephews and grandnieces.

Pallbearers are Aaron Neumann, Nick Neumann, Adam Johnson, Jamie Heins, Steve Gatz and David Carriveau.

Holmquist, Belinda Jane 57

Holmquist, Belinda Jane
age 57, of Cokato passed away on March 10, 2016. She was born March 22, 1958 in Litchfield, Minnesota to Kenneth and Janet (Leukema) Gustafson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Cokato First Apostolic Lutheran Church. Belinda graduated from Dassel-Cokato High School in 1976. She was united in marriage to Michael Holmquist on May 21, 1977 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato. Belinda worked as a bank teller for several years at local banks.
She enjoyed playing and watching her children play hockey. Belinda enjoyed her flower garden, birds and bird houses. She liked to spend time with her grandchildren.
Survived by her Mother, Janet, husband, Michael, Children, Jeffrey Holmquist, Brent (Laura) Holmquist, grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden, Hope, Halle, Sophia, Audrey, and Mason, siblings, Tim Gustafson, Mike Gustafson, Brenda Lee, and Jamie Gustafson, along with several other family members and friends.
Preceded in death by her father, Kenneth, and infant brother.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cokato and continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church. www.swansonpeterson.com, 320-286-2534

Black, Grace Yvonne 78

Grace Yvonne Black was born on May 16, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Ruth (Davidson) Stickney. She grew up in Omaha, and attended school there.

Grace was married first to Monroe Miles they had 8 children.

She later married Richard Black in Omaha in 1994. They lived for a time in Omaha then Crystal, Minnesota, they moved to Iowa for 12 years and then back to Minnesota to be near family and friends.

For a time she worked in Plymouth Minnesota doing housekeeping at Mission Farms. She enjoyed house cleaning, and flower gardening, and most of all her family.

Grace passed away at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home on March 7, 2016. She had reached the age of 78 years, 9 months and 21 days.

Survivors include; husband Richard, 8 children, 1 step daughter, grand children and great grand children and her brother Sonny. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ruth, brothers and sisters.

Memorial service: 2PM Friday March 18, 2016 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.

Hatrick, Betty Jane 88

Betty Jane Hatrick 88, former resident of Howard Lake, Annandale and St. Mary’s of Winsted, passed away at Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home on March 8, 2016, Funeral Service will be 11 AM Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Church of Christ in Dassel, Minnesota. Visitation 4-7 Friday the 18th at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato and 1hr prior to service at church on Saturday. Interment Howard Lake Cemetery.

Betty Jane (Rasmussen) Hatrick died peacefully on March 8, 2016 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Howard Lake, MN surrounded by her family. She was born on March 4, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN to Linnea Edla Mellin. Betty was baptized as a young child at the Howard Lake Church of Christ and was a member of the Church of Christ in Dassel, MN. Betty grew up in Howard Lake, MN and graduated in 1946 from Howard Lake High School. She married Wayne (Red) Hatrick on October 20, 1946 in Howard Lake. Betty and Red began their restaurant career in the mid-1950′s in Milwaukee, WI. Tragedy struck on March 2, 1957 when a fire started in their restaurant below the apartment! The building was destroyed, taking with it two of the Hatrick daughters. They returned to Howard Lake, and soon after, Betty and Red took the rest of their family and moved to California to start over. Within six months they returned to Howard Lake, MN and opened the first “Red’s Pizza”. “Red’s Pizza” continued for many years in various locations, including Howard Lake and Nisswa, MN. Betty’s love for singing brought her to the Sweet Adeline’s, singing and competing in the choir and Quartet. Betty dearly loved her grand children and spent many hours with them!

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Jerome Rasmussen, brother David Rasmussen, daughters Bonnie and Peggy, son in law Robert Young and grandson Jason Young.

Betty is survived by her children; Sherry Young of St. Cloud, Trudy (Steve) Berg of Howard Lake, Michael W. Hatrick of Nisswa, Jody Foss of Rochester, Thomas Hatrick of Minneapolis, and Joseph (Jennifer) Hatrick of Howard Lake. Grand children Jammie (Mike) Hernandez of Delano, Angie Young of Plymouth, Jesse (Cortney) Berg of Delano, Katie (Andy) Riehle of Darwin, Kelli (Chad) Burau of Cokato, Michael P. Hatrick of Minneapolis, Collin Foss of Helsinki, Finland, Corey Foss of Rochester, Tim Hatick of Howard Lake, Bailey (Silvestre) Lopez of Glencoe, and Janna Hatrick of Howard Lake. Thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sister, Arlene (Fahey) Law of Glenwood Springs, CO, brother Dennis (Becky) Rasmussen of Alexandria, MN, brother Daniel (Vikki) Rasmussen of Hudson, WI and sister in law Patricia Rasmussen of Maple Grove, MN.

Betty was the BEST Mother, Grandmother, great Grandmother, and friend. She was loved by many people and will be deeply missed.
