Zellman, Lenore Bernice 96

Zellman, Lenore Bernice 96 of Waconia, formerly of Cokato. Passed away at the Good Samaritan Society of Waconia, on September 29, 2015. Survivors include: niece Diane (Don) Koepp of Belle Plaine, nephews & spouses: Lowell (Diane) Zellmann of New Ulm, LuAnn Zellmann of St.Cloud, Layton (Linda) Zellman of Chanhassen, Larry Zellman of Belle Plaine, Les (Kristi) Zellmann of St. James, Loren (Brenda) Zellman of Savage. Lenore is also survived by 20 great nieces and nephews and 34 great-great nieces and nephews. Memorial service: 4:30 PM Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at West Union Lutheran Church of Cologne, MN. Visitation 1hr prior to service. Interment Church Cemetery.

Lenore Bernice Zellman, was born on may 19, 1919 to Otto F. and Alma (Pehrson) Zellmann in Hancock Township, Carver County, Minnesota. She was confirmed at West Union Lutheran Church on November 27, 1932 by Rev. Miller.
Lenore attended District 24 School for 8 years and then Belle Plaine High School for 4 years. She worked at Gotha Store during high school. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School on May 29, 1936. After graduation, she moved to St. Paul and worked at The Emporium department store. Lenore was a lingerie buyer and made several trips each year to New York to see the fashions and order the new merchandise for the store. After the Emporium closed she was a buyer of accessories for The House of Large Sizes which is ironic as she was a little lady.
After retirement, she moved to Cokato to help care for her mother. Lenore became a volunteer driver and the Volunteer Coordinator for Wright County. In June 2010, Lenore moved to West view Acres Senior Living in Waconia to be closer to family. In May 2015, after a fall, she moved to Waconia Good Samaritan Care Center.
She enjoyed her nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Lenore sent cards for everyone’s birthday and gave books to the younger generation at Christmas. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
Lenore passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Waconia Good Samaritan Center. She had reached the age of 96 years, 4 months and 10 days. She is preceded in death by: her parents, brother Burton (as a small child) and brother and sister in law Leslie and Mildred Zellmann. Nephews and nieces: Leon and Susie Zellmann, Lance Zellmann and Lois Zellman.
She is survived by: niece Diane (Don) Koepp of Belle Plaine, nephews & spouses: Lowell (Diane) Zellmann of New Ulm, LuAnn Zellmann of St.Cloud, Layton (Linda) Zellman of Chanhassen, Larry Zellman of Belle Plaine, Les (Kristi) Zellmann of St. James, Loren (Brenda) Zellman of Savage. Lenore is also survived by 20 great nieces and nephews and 34 great-great nieces and nephews.

Semke, Lucille Marlyce Jane 85

Lucille Semke passed away on September 15, 2015 at Cokato Manor. A memorial service will be at 5 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Dassel. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Sunday. Interment will be at Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery of Cokato at a later date. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers

Lucille Marlyce Jane Semke, was born on June 23, 1930 at Knapp, Minnesota to Gustav and Theresia (Larson) Rhode. She was the youngest of five girls: Helen, Inez, Evelyn and Eleanore and grew up on a farm at Knapp. She was baptized and confirmed at the North Crow River Lutheran Church, and attended country school at Knapp.
On October 15, 1949 Lucille was united in marriage to Edward Otto Fred Semke and they were married for 47 years. Ed passed away in December of 1996. Lucille continued to live on their farm in Stockholm Township until now. She loved the country life and thought there was no better place to live and raise their four children. She enjoyed her flower gardens and shared them with many friends and relatives. Lucille also loved baking, music, theater, drives around the countryside and spending time with friends, family and grandchildren. She was proud of her 100% Swedish heritage and was able to travel to Sweden to visit her relatives. She worked for a time at the Buffalo nursing home and eventually retired from CTS Corporation after more than 27 years.
Lucille passed away at Cokato Manor after a very brief stay on September 15, 2015. She had reached the age of 85 years, 2 months and 22 days. Survivors include her children: Bruce (Carol) Semke of Cokato, Nancy Zwicke of Naples Florida, Juliane (Max) Tisch of Chanhassen, Brian (Deborah) Semke of Chanhassen. Grandchildren: Stephanie (Ryan) Donnelly of St. Paul, Angie (Joe) Johnston of Buffalo, Brianna Tisch of Chanhassen, Brandon Semke of Chanhassen. Great grandchildren: Isabelle and Emma Donnelly of St. Paul, Evelyn of Buffalo.

Joe was preceded in Death by his parents; George and Ann Jaeger, brother; Gene Jaeger, and sister; Patricia Benson
Survived by; his niece, Kathy McKay

Joe was born in St. Cloud Minnesota on December 13th 1941. He served in the Navy and was stationed in California. After leaving the Navy he remained in California for many years. Joe was employed as a common laborer for most of his life. Joe spent the final months of his life at Brookridge Assisted Living in Cokato, MN. Joe enjoyed the outdoors, playing pool, and looking at his National Geographic magazines. Joe’s view from his window at Brookridge overlooked the golf course and he loved to watch the birds through his binoculars. He also loved his coffee, potato chips, and going out for Taco’s with Diane, his caregiver. Joe died peacefully in his apartment on Tuesday September 1st 2015. Joe’s final wish was to be buried at sea off the shores of California, a place he very much cherished.
A sea burial will be performed by San Diego Burial at Sea.

Kilpela, Louise Kathryn
age 86, of Cokato, passed away on September 1, 2015 at her home. She was born August 4, 1929 in Dassel, MN to Arthur and Senja Anderson. Louise was raised on the family farm with 3 sisters and 6 brothers. She graduated from Dassel High School in 1947. Louise was united in marriage to Paul Arthur Niemela in 1954. This union was blessed with the birth of 10 children. After Paul passed away in 1970, Louise leaned on her faith and strength to raise her 10 children.
On March 18, 1989 she married Lawrence Kilpela in Cokato. For 9 years, Lawrence and Louise made their home in the Upper Penninsula, MI and later in Cokato. They enjoyed 26 1/2 years of marriage.
Survived by her husband, Lawrence, children, Paul “Mike” (Cheryl), Nathan (Nancy), Maria (Marcelo) Borja, Aaron (Bonnie), Vincent (Brenda), Lawrence (Elizabeth), Joseph (Cassandra), Maurice (Sarah), Elizabeth “Betsy”, and Amy, 10 step-children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, siblings, Harold, Carold (Lois), and Margaret (Douglas) Engelson, along with several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband Paul, siblings, Mildred, Arthur, Elaine, Donald, Arnold, Jim, and a step-daughter, Rebecca.
A celebration of Louise’s life will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church in Cokato. Bergstrom, Robert Winston
age 74, of Cokato passed away on August 26, 2015. He was born May 31, 1941 in Cokato to Gordy and Helen Bergstrom. Bob was confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato. He graduated from Cokato High School in 1959. Bob served his country for 4 years in the United States Navy. On August 23, 1969 he was united to Karen Hilleren at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, Minnesota. This union was blessed with the birth of 3 children.
Bob grew up and lived the majority of his life in Cokato. He loved sports and was active his entire life. Bob enjoyed attending and participating in his communitys sporting events. He loved his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them.
Survived by his children, Matt (Bridget) Bergstrom, Ross Bergstrom, and Jill (Luke) Huggett, grandchildren, Jake, Grace, and Brynlee Bergstrom, Gwen and Olive Huggett brother, Jon (Marion) Bergstrom, sister, Penny (Jim) Marchand.
Preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Karen.
