Macon, Mayla Ancero
age 40, of Cokato passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. She was born May 1, 1975 in Cabucgayan Baso, Philippines to Bruce and Enriqueta (Ancero) Hafften. At age 4 Mayla moved to the United States with her family. They resided in Great Lakes, Illinois before moving to San Diego, California in 1983. Mayla was confirmed at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Chula Vista, California and graduated from Southwest High in San Diego. She was united in marriage to Roderick Macon on August 27, 1994. In 1997 they moved to Howard Lake, Minnesota and she later resided in Cokato. Mayla received an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu.
Mayla enjoyed cooking, dancing, and spending time with her family. She was passionate about graphic design and Reggae music. Mayla had a deep love for her children, nieces, and nephews. She was an amazing daughter and a best friend to many.
Mayla is survived by her parents, Bruce and Rita Hafften, children, Jordan Macon, Tiana Macon, and Jazara Queeglay, sister Angie Kimbal, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Morena Clay.
A celebration of Mayla’s life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Cokato. A gathering of family and friends will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
