Kienholz, Edward L. 92

Ed L. Kienholz Sr,
age 92, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, departed from this world while at his home in Waverly with family at his side on July 21, 2017. He was born June 26th, 1925 in Bird Island, MN, the son of Ed and Carrie (Gilbert) Kienholz. Ed was raised and educated in Bird Island, MN. On June 10, 1950 he was joined in marriage to Edith I. Minzghor and they were blessed with 4 children. After a few jobs he decided he needed a different career, so he took an accounting course at Minneapolis Business College. Ed graduated from college the spring of 1948 and went to work for Nutrena Mills, Feed Division of Cargill and worked for 15 years as an accountant. The company wanted him to go to Madison, WI, so he left there to work for Construction Materials. Then he wanted to do some farming and did for a couple years before taking another accounting job with Highway Services before retirement in 1987. He was a hard worker, caring, thoughtful, and could be a jokester at times. Ed enjoyed being on the farm, tending to the yard work, keeping up the place, and also the dogs, cats, watching the birds and westerns on television. Plus, he played cribbage and occasionally kicked up his heels with his wife on special occasions. He was a resident of Waverly for 53 years and always gave a wave to every person he passed whether he knew you or not. Preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Shawn Kienholz, and many cousins.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 67 years, Edith Kienholz, his children, Debbie Kienholz, Ed Kienholz Jr. (Danielle), Jeff (Cheryl) Kienholz, and Lynette Kienholz, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Until we meet again. Rest in eternal peace.
