Kapellusch, Leonard Richard 62

Visitation: 4-7 PM Wednesday December 19, at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake

Leonard Richard Kapellusch passed away on December 15, 2012 at the Lakewood
Health System of Staples, Minnesota. He had reached the age of 62 years 11
months and 16 days.

 

 

 

Lenny was born on December 31, 1949 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to Leonard
and Gladys (Van marten) Kapellusch. He grew up in the Pewaukee and Waukesha area
in Wisconsin.

 

 

 

On August 9 1975 Lenny was married to Una Burau at St. James Lutheran Church
by Pastor Gary Lodholz. August 9, 2000, on their 25 wedding anniversary, they
renewed their vows in Sturgis South Dakota. The couple made their home in Howard
Lake, Minnesota.

 

 

 

Through the years Lenny was an owner-operator truck driver, a roller operator
at Omann Bro. and also drove truck for Randal Trucking and C.A.R. trucking.

 

 

 

He enjoyed collecting, fixing and riding motorcycles, hunting, reading Louis
L’amour and The Edge series of western books and watching old western and
classic movies.  He enjoyed fixing up and working his hobby farm and being
surrounded by all of  his “critters”.

 

 

 

He also enjoyed traveling, driving through nearly every state and taking a
vacation Norway.  He also took his family on many vacations to Florida, the
Badlands of South Dakota and Wisconsin Dells.

 

 

 

Leonard is survived by his wife Una of Howard Lake,  four daughters:  Deanna
of Dassel, Mandy of Howard Lake, Jenny of Howard Lake and Kendy of Ohio, three
grand children: Donovan, Carrie Ann, and Seth Michael, great-grand daughter:
Madison and two sisters: Barbara of Vesper, Wisconsin, and Sally of Henderson,
Kentucky.

 

 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Gladys , son Terry, and
Brother-in-law Bill SR.

 

 

 

Lenny was well liked and respected by those who knew him and none will forget
his wry sense of humor and dry wit.
