Gulso, Stanley L. 76

Gulso, Stanley L.

passed in peace Thursday, Jan 20, 2022 at the age of 76 at Allina Hospital in Buffalo, MN. Stanley Gulso, also known as “Stan the Man” was born in Minnesota to the late Leona (Krohn) and Louis Gulso on July 27, 1945. He was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.

Stan met Karen Ergen at JJs in Annandale while he was filling in as guitar player for Country Junction, and was married Nov 29, 1980. Together the couple had two daughters and as he would say was blessed with three more, they raised at the family farm in Howard Lake, MN. In addition, to playing bass guitar, after he retired from farming, he started his own painting business mostly painting tractors. As things sometimes go in life, Stan and Karen got divorced after 16 years of marriage.

Stan loved music especially classic country. He loved going out and singing Karaoke at the local bars and socializing with friends. He loved being outside at the farm and with his favorite companion Gus, the Springer Spaniel. But the thing he loved most was his children and grandchildren. He was always there to lend an ear, give advice, or make you laugh. There are not enough words to express what a great man he was, he was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Stan is survived by his 5 children: Crystal (Gulso) Collier, Heidi Gulso, Rebecca Mosher, Laura (Mosher) Menk, and Christina Mosher; 14 grandchildren: Alexis Collier, Hannah Collier, Malayna Johnson, Kylie Dahlin, Braxton Gulso, Fisher Laplant, Kinzlie Laplant, Courtney (Smith) Anderson, Bradley Smith, Katelyn Wren, Hunter Wren, Ashley Menk, Cieara Menk, Karissa Menk, and Logan Reyes; 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Norman Gulso, sister Jeanette (Gulso) Barrett.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, with visitation 1 hour prior to services at church. Arrangements by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake, www.swansonpetetrson.com, 320-543-3401
