Marjorie Adeen Breitholtz (Nee Porter)
age 99, of Cokato, MN died Tuesday, August 29, 2019 at the Cokato Manor. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Cokato with a celebration of life to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Marjorie has donated her body to science at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. There will be a private internment service for the immediate family at a later date at the Baptist Cemetery in Cokato, MN.
Marjorie was born October 17, 1919 in Shenandoah, Iowa the daughter of LeRoy and Lottie (Beck) Porter. On December 17, 1948 she was united in Holy matrimony to John L. Breitholtz at Minnehaha Baptist Church. She became a Reverends wife. Together for 42 years, they ministered at churches in; Lenby, Russell, Brooklyn Center, Ortonville, Lakeland, Alexandria, Cottage Grove, Glencoe, and Fosston, Minnesota, Fox Lake, Illinois, Westwood in Omaha, Gering, Nebraska, Gardner, Massachusetts, and Winter Springs, Florida. Marjorie was a lifetime member and elder at the First Baptist Church of Cokato. She was a prayer warrior and had many prayer partners and long, loving relationships with her church family.
Marjorie enjoyed reading the Word of our Lord and savior, crocheting, quilting and in her quiet and gentle way, witnessing to people about the wonders of God’s love and his promise of eternal life. She enjoyed spending time with her son and grandchildren and had the wonderful gift of 3 great-grandchildren. Marjorie will always be remembered for her gentleness and kindness, and her unwavering love of the Lord, perhaps today. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Marjorie is survived by her son and daughter in-law, David (Colleen) of St. Cloud, MN; two grandchildren, Cody (Josh) Finney of Minneapolis, MN and Timothy of St. Cloud, MN; three great grandchildren, Isaac Somerville, Macie Somerville and Hayes Finney; her adoptive family, Grace (Mick) Yanke and Jackson of Cokato, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Reverend John L. Breitholtz, parents, and brother, Virgil Porter.
