Frederick (Fred) Daniel Anderson, age 65 of St. Cloud, MN passed away Wednesday, January 28th, 2015 at the St. Cloud VA medical facility. He was the son of Andrew and Lorraine (Hamari) Anderson and grew up in East Bethel, MN. Fred served as a member of the US Army, serving mostly in European countries for four years. After his military service, Fred worked as a teacher, insurance agent, and at the St. Cloud DAV. Fred was well known for his love of helping our country’s veterans at the St. Cloud VA facility, serving there as a volunteer in many capacities. He was also an avid fisherman who enjoyed sharing his fishing techniques with others. Fred will always be remembered for his humorous true life stories. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew. He is survived by his mother, Lorraine, of Cokato. Children: Michael (Pat) of Bangkok, Thailand; Chad (Breanne) of Brooklyn Park, MN; Brandon (Angie) of Savage, MN; Andrea of Austin, TX; Joanna (Chris) Ehresman of Plymouth, MN. Grandchildren: Nina Anderson; Kieran, Cooper, and Jocelyn Anderson; Tristan and Charlotte Anderson; and Eli Ehresman. Brothers: Les of Portland, OR; David (Sylvia) of Virginia, MN; Robert (Ruth) of Cokato, MN. Sisters: Karen (Tom) Aho of Cokato, MN and Barbara (John) Lehto of Cokato, MN. Fred is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Fred was a life-long member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Dassel, MN at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2015 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Military burial service at Camp Ripley at a later date.
