Drusch, Harvey

age 79, of Howard Lake, passed away at his home on 9/11. He is survived by his nine children-Mike (Chris), Mark, Linda, Lila, Lynette Kleve, Matthew “Chuck” (Darla), Merlyn “Pete”, Wendy Drusch, Craig “Toby”(Debi) and Daryl “Taddy” (Julie). Memorial service, Saturday, 9/14,  11 am. at St James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. Visitation, Friday, 9/13, 5-9pm and continuing 1 hr. prior to the service all at church.

OBITUARY

Harvey Herbert Drusch was born on the family farm near Montrose, Minnesota on August 16, 1934, the son of Fred and Katherine (Gloege) Drusch.  He was baptized on September 9, 1934 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Delano by E.H. Burns and confirmed in his faith at this same church on March 21, 1948.

He attended Montrose “Tech” School.  On March 30, 1954, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Zabel at her parents’ home by Reverend M.H. Hanke. Their 47 years together were blessed with the births of nine children.  They made their home on a farm south of Montrose and moved to their present home in Howard Lake in the spring of 1960.

Over the years Harvey’s career included driving truck for Munson Feeds, Day Distributing and Litfin Trucking.  He bartended at the Howard Lake Municipal Liquor Store and for a short time volunteered as a fireman.  For many years he managed the Delano American Legion until 1993 when he retired due to failing eye sight.

In retirement he took up gardening and canning. He enjoyed sharing the bounty of his garden with friends and family.  Many enjoyed his salsa and sun pickles.  Volunteering at St. James Lutheran School, he helped with the can recycling program.  Harvey enjoyed fishing, hunting, fishing, playing cards, fishing and spending time with his family and friends and fishing with them.

It was on September 11, 2013 that Harvey was called to his eternal rest.  He had reached the age of 79 years and 26 days.  He was surrounded by his family in his own home as he took the hand of the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine; parents Fred and Katherine Drusch; father and mother-in-law Ed and Irene Zabel; one sister-in-law Arlene; two brothers-in-law Dick Rolf and Willard Schuette; a nephew Leslie; and two great-grand babies.

Harvey is survived by his nine children; Mike and wife Chris of Waverly, Mark, Linda, Lila, Lynette Kleve, Matthew (Chuck) and his wife Darla, Merlyn (Pete) all of Howard Lake, Wendy Drusch, Craig (Toby) and his wife Debi of Delano and Daryl (Taddy) and his wife Julie of Howard Lake.

He is further survived by seventeen grandchildren Holly and husband Chris, Chris and Terra, Josh, Nathan and his wife Melissa, Naomi and her husband Nick, Nicholas, Tiffany, Sarah, Amber and her husband Dan, Crystal, Samantha, Jonathan, Jennifer, Rebecca, Katlyn, Cassandra and Taylor; six great-grandchildren; Adan, Jordan, Allie, Ethan, Bryer and Grayson; one brother Don and his wife Ruby; one sister Elaine and her husband Larry Heyer; sister-in-law Beverly Schuette; brother-in-law Joel Zabel and his wife Linda; Kate, Paul and Henry Jewett; nieces; nephews and multitude of family and friends.

Urn bearer was Whitey Robertson.

Officiating at the celebration of his life on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 am was Reverend David Taylor and Reverend Michael Nirva. Katie Stevens served as organist with special music by soloist Marge Stueven.

A private family interment will be held at the St. James Cemetery Dutch Lake on a later date.  His children will carry him to his final resting place.

Reinmuth, Rosalynde Corrine 84

 

Rosalynde Corrine Reinmuth, age 84, of Howard Lake, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Cokato Manor.

Funeral service: Friday, September 13, 2013, 2:00 pm at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake

Visitation: Thursday, September 12, 2013, 4-7 pm with 6:30 prayer at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake and 1 hour prior to services at the church.

Rosalynde Corinne Reinmuth was born July 11, 1929 in Cornish Township, Sibley County, Minnesota the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Anderson) Nelson.  She was baptized and confirmed in Cokato Lutheran Church, Cokato, Minnesota.  On August 29, 1948, she was married to Edward Reinmuth with Reverend Oscar Peterson officiating at Cokato Lutheran Church.  Their marriage was blessed with two children and 65 years of blessings together.

They lived in Howard Lake where she joined Ed as a member of St. James Lutheran Church.  She became active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and served as a Sunday School teacher.  For many years she was employed by the Howard Lake School District as the head cook of the school’s lunch program for grades 1 through 12.

It was on September 10, 2013 while a resident of the Cokato Care Center that Rosalynde Reinmuth was called to her eternal rest at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 30 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Elizabeth Nelson; brother DeWayne Nelson (Lois); sisters Agnes (Ed) Matilla, Inez (John) Mezyke, Doris Bacon; and brother-in-law Bob Johnson.

Rosalynde is survived by her husband Edward; daughter Diane (Paul) Kobernusz; son Ron Reinmuth; three grandsons Jeffery (Dana) Kobernusz, Kelly (Raeanna)Kobernusz, Terry  (special friend Julie) Kobernusz; nine great-grandchildren; sister Muriel Johnson; brother-in-law Kenneth Bacon; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Richard Sonstegard, Jeffery Kobernusz, Kelly Kobernusz, Terry Kobernusz, Jim Johnson and Glenn Nelson

Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandchildren Ashley, Zach, Emma, Elizabeth, Noah, Micah, Gadise, Jonah and  Riley.

Officiating at the celebration of her life was Reverend Michael Nirva and Reverend David Taylor. Nancy Butterfass served as organist with special music by soloist Marge Stueven and the LWML.  Interment took place at the Howard Lake Cemetery.

Tormanen, Robert Ernest 70

Robert passed away at his home in Cokato on September 6, 2013.

Robert Ernest Tormanen was born in Litchfield, Minnesota on December 9, 1942 to Eino and Agnes (Ailie) Tormanen. He grew up North of Cokato, and graduated from in Cokato High School in 1960.  On June 30, 1960 Robert entered the United States Army and served overseas.  He was honorably discharged on June 21, 1963.

On January 7, 1967 Robert married Grace Pennala at Farmington Hills, Michigan. The couple was married by Reverend Raymond Tolkki.  They made their home in a total of 18 places since they were married: living first in Detroit then Cokato, then back to Detroit, and finally back to Cokato.

Robert worked for a time at Ford Motor Company, and then became a mail carrier.  After retirement from the Post Office he went into real-estate, worked for an expediting company, delivered the Detroit News and Free Press, and recently drove charter bus for Holt Charter.

Robert enjoyed Gardening, outdoors hiking and camping, reading, and he wrote an auto-biography. He was a very active individual.

Robert passed away at home in Cokato after a battle with cancer, on September 6, 2013. He had reached the age of 70years, 8 months and 28 days.

Survivors include his wife Grace of Cokato.  Children; Sherry (Wayne) Anderson of Laurium Michigan, Gregory (Sharyn) Tormanen of Howell, Michigan, Kenneth (Jennifer)
Tormanen of Dassel, Karen (Aaron) Davison of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Mari (Brian) Peite of Dassel, Eric (Sheila) Tormanen of Dassel, Renee (Jonathan) Wesa of Cokato, Joel (Nichole) Tormanen of Cokato, and Teresa (Jay) Johnson of Howell Michigan.  39 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Brothers and
sister: Richard (Anne) Tormanen of Dassel, Joan (Robbin) Lindula of Edgewood, Washington, and Calvin (Susan) Tormanen of Park Rapids.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, son Tom, and infant daughter Mary.

Randt, Wanda Marie 73

Wanda Marie Randt, age 73, of Howard Lake passed away August 29, 2013, after a long illness.

Wanda was born August 18, 1940 to William and Bertie Ristow in Hopkins, Minnesota. She graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1958.

Wanda was united in marriage to Walter Randt on May 4, 1959. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters-Dawn and Lisa. Nephew Jeffrey was also a special part of their lives together.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, Wanda was an excellent housekeeper and cleaned the home of Hubert and Muriel Humphrey. In more recent years, Wanda and Wally were the resident managers of Shoreline Commons Senior apartment complex in Howard Lake.

Wanda adored her grandchildren and was blessed to have two “practice” granddaughters Amanda Thompson  and Heather Kachel. Later she doted on her own grandchildren Cadie Risser, Mitchell Ward and Megan Ward.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband Walter Randt, daughter Dawn Ward and husband Jay of Ramsey, daughter Lisa Risser and husband Bob of Buffalo, Nephew Jeffrey Kachel and wife Denise of Wisconsin, brother Ray Ristow and wife Gayle of Howard Lake, and grandchildren Cadie, Mitchell and Megan. Further survived  by many other dear in-laws, relatives and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents William and Bertie Ristow, brother Jess Ristow, and sister Donna Kachel.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, 7:00 pm at Swanson Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake. A time of gathering will take place 2 hours prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Lasley, Nicole Marie 40

Nicole Marie Lasley of Buffalo passed away at a friends home in Delano on August 24, 2013.

Visitation: 3-6 PM Friday, August 30, at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.

Prayer Service: 5PM Friday at the Funeral Home.

Nicole Marie Lasley was born at Anoka, Minnesota on May 1, 1973 to
Eugene and Susan (Johansen) Buchholz.  She grew up in Anoka and attended school there.  After High School Nicole
went on to St. Cloud Technical College. Graduating with an associates degree in accounting.
She worked at Work Connection in accounting in
St. Paul.

 

Nicole Married Lyle Lasley in 2004.  The couple made their home in Annandale
first then Buffalo. Nicole enjoyed her pet dogs Cuddles and Teddy Bear, her nieces &
nephews, puzzles, painting and collecting dolphins.

 

Nicole
passed away in Delano, Minnesota on August 24, 2013.
She had reached the age of 40 years, 3 months and 23 days.
Survivors include her mother, Susan (Dennis) Ploog of Annandale.  Grandfather
Gerald Hughes of Hastings, Brother Aaron (Jessica) Buchholz of
Alaska and his children Danielle, A.J., Addison, Scout, Burch, and Ivan..
Step-brothers: Duane Ploog and Ron (Carrie) Ploog and their children
Chelsea, Connor and Cora.  Nicole is also survived by Uncles
Gary Johansen of South Haven, Scott Johansen of Annandale, and Aunts Cheryl (Tim) Rootes of Hampstead, NC and Peggy (Don) Sherry
of Hastings as well as many more extended relatives and friends.

 

Nicole is preceded in death by her grand parents, and
husband Lyle.
