Engel, Bradley William
age 69, of Howard Lake passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He was born July 19, 1946 in Cokato, MN to Reuben and Mae (Combs) Engel and grew up in Howard Lake, MN. Bradley graduated from Howard Lake High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bradley was a hard worker that took pride in his labors. He drove commercially for Gambles and later Supervalu for many years. Bradley enjoyed watching the Howard Lake Orphans baseball team play by the lake.
Survived by LaMae Engel, children, Jenifer (Alan) Lange and Chad Engel, grandchildren, Nicolas (Olivia) Engel, Aleah Lange, and Jackson Lange, sister, Carol (Dale) Anderson, brother in-law, David Mitchell, along with other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Betty Mitchell, and Nancy (Carl) Wanha.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 AM Monday February 2/22/2016 at St. Johns Catholic Church of Darwin, Minnesota
Visitation: 4-8 PM Sunday at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato and 1hr prior to Mass at Church on Monday.
Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery of Waverly, Minnesota

Victoria Edna (Narr) Berg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2016, at Ridgeview Hospital of Waconia. Visitation will be held from 1-4 PM. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake. There will be a Prayer Service at 3:00 PM. Spring Interment will be at the Mount Hermon Lutheran Cemetery. 
Victoria Edna (Narr) Berg, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 20, 1931 to Victor and Edna (Noerenberg) Narr. She grew up in Howard Lake, Minnesota, was baptized and confirmed at the St. James Lutheran Church, and attended the St. James School to the 8th grade. She went on to graduate from the Howard Lake High School in 1949.
On September 17, 1950 she was united in marriage to Duane Berg at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. The couple was wed by Reverend Theo Melinat. They made their home in rural Annandale on the family farm. There they remained for many years and raised their family.
In addition to helping on the farm and tending her large gardens, sewing and baking, Vickie’s passion was to teach piano and organ to several generations of students for over 60 years. Traveling and volunteering with music were activities she enjoyed.
Victoria passed away at the Ridgeview Hospital of Waconia on January 31, 2016. She had reached the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 11 days. Survivors include: children; Joey (Connie) Berg of Howard Lake, Jayne (Dan) Kyllonen of Howard Lake, Julianne (Tom) Marcsisak of Waconia and Jacquelyn (Donn) Dierks of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Grandchildren: Jami (Sarah) Berg, Cari (Joe) Backes, Candice (Brendan) Dolan, Jeffrey (Andrea) Kyllonen, Jodi (special friend Robert Cielke) Kyllonen, Tara (Dustin) Bones, Tiffany (Ronnie) Olson, Tonya (Vlad) Spector, Devin Dart, Crystal Dierks, Savannah Dierks. 13 great grandchildren, Sister-in-law Luella (Dale) Vitalis, 3 nieces, 1 nephew and other relatives and friends.

Kariniemi, Paul Werner 63
Paul Werner Kariniemi, 63, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in his home in Wayzata, MN following his battle with pancreatic cancer. Paul was born on June 22, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Paul and Gladys Kariniemi. Paul moved with his family to White Bear Lake, MN in 1957 and then to Plymouth, Minnesota in 1968, where he graduated from Wayzata High School in June 1970. Paul was drafted into the United States Army in 1972 and completed his service in 1974. He was married to Sandra Lee Simonson on March 18, 1978. Paul and Sandra lived in Plymouth, Minnesota until 1989 when they moved to Wayzata, Minnesota, where they remained for the remainder of their married life. Paul graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry in 1988 and worked as a chemist until 2000 when he retrained as an electrician at Dunwoody Institute. Thereafter, Paul worked as an electrician for the rest of his life, working both locally in the Minneapolis area as well as on the road in places like Moses Lake, Washington and Williston, North Dakota.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Sandra of 37 years and his children, Paul (Maijastiina) Kariniemi of Phoenix, AZ; Jack (Liana) Kariniemi of Corcoran, MN; Patrick (Anita) Kariniemi of Cave Creek, AZ; Tristan (Annika) Kariniemi of Medina, MN; William Kariniemi of Wayzata, MN; Roberta (Dave) Loukusa of St. Michael, MN; Barbara (Alex) Jumppanen of Corcoran, MN; Alex (Kelsi) Kariniemi of Plymouth, MN; Spencer (Annalisa) Kariniemi of St. Cloud, MN; and Julia Kariniemi of St. Cloud, MN. Paul is also survived by his mother, Gladys Kariniemi of South Haven, MN, his 11 siblings, and 23 grandchildren and many family members and friends.
Paul will remembered as a diligent worker who valued knowledge and education but mostly Paul will be remembered as a family man who loved to spend time with his wife and children and dote on his grandchildren. Paul was also a man of faith and was a life time member of the Minneapolis Lutheran Laestadian Church.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul Herbert Kariniemi.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 from 5-8 PM with 7 PM prayer at the Minneapolis Laestadian Lutheran Church (13030 47th Ave North, Plymouth, MN 55442) and continue 1 hour prior to services on Saturday. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Minneapolis Laestadian Lutheran Church. Internment will follow a time of gathering at the Cokato Finnish Cemetery. Iva Christeen Johnson, “Ivy” age 82 passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2016 of Dementia. She was born August 21, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Ernest and Beulah (Tribble) Gloff. Ivy was united in marriage to Robert Johnson on May 9, 1953.
