Tuholski, Leo “Gene” Eugene Jr.
age 85, of Cokato passed away on October 31, 2017. He was born October 13, 1932 in Brainerd, MN to Leo Sr. and Elsie Tuholski. On March 8, 1954 he was united in marriage to Irene Bertram. Together, they owned and operated Bowery Café and G.I. Tavern in Brainerd. He was also a dog catcher for many years. Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene, and grandson, Gregory Gustad.
Survived by his son, Scott Tuholski of Annandale, MN, daughter, Tammy (Richard) Gustad of Cokato, MN, 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jill Marie Rygwall was born in Litchfield, Minnesota to John and Maxine (Klammer) Rokala on May 12, 2017. She grew up in the Dassel/Kingston area, and graduated from Dassel Cokato High school in 1987. She went on to Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota and graduated in 1991 with a degree in Criminal Justice. After College she took a job at the U.S. Marshalls office in Minneapolis, and later worked at the Princeton School District as a special Ed para.
Jill and Chad were married at North Crow River Lutheran Church on May 7, 1994. Reverend Jeffrey Blank officiated at the ceremony. To this union a son; Andrew Chadley Rygwall was born. They made their home in Fridley first then Blaine and finally Princeton.
They were truly outdoors people that did everything together; snowmobiling, fishing, deer hunting, flying, pontooning and boating, spending time at cabins, animal lovers, bonfires, Viking fans. Jill liked to read, Chad was a swimmer and pilot with his own plane and hangar.
Chad and Jill passed away together in a plane crash over the Mississippi River on a beautiful fall day near Ramsey, Minnesota, on October 13, 2017.
Surviving Jill is their son Andrew Chadley Rygwall. Parents John and Maxine (Klammer) Rokala. Brother, Mark (Julie) Rokala their children Henry and Lilly. And Brother, Michael Rokala. Sister, Jodi (Aladdin) Rokala Ghazi, their children Danyah, Kenan, Maya, Kassim, Lea.
Jill is preceded in death by: grandparents, Levi and Ina (Hasti) Rokala, and Ernest and Elvira (Hendrickson) Klammer.

Donald Wayne Jasperson, age 85, of Dassel, MN passed away on October 9, 2017, at the Augustana Lakeside Care Center, in Dassel. He was born on November 11, 1931 to parents Harold and Evelyn (Helgemo) Jasperson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Tracy. He was one of two people in his confirmation class to profess his faith in front of the congregation.
Don graduated from Tracy High School in 1949 and was united in marriage to Nancy Whipple on July 30, 1950. To this union, four children were born: Terri, Donna, David, and Molly.
Don worked for J C Penny in Tracy, LeMars, IA, and was transferred to Marshall, MN where he became the assistant manager. In 1968, the family moved to Appleton, MN where he became the manager. He and Nancy owned and operated Jasperson’s Department Store in Appleton for several years. In 1982 they moved to Glencoe, MN where Don was the Executive Director of the Glencoe Area Chamber of Commerce.
On October 6, 1990, Don was united in marriage to Barbara Shipp Bruns, in Glencoe, MN. Don loved fishing and dreamed of living on a lake so when he retired, they sold their house and lived by the lake near Cokato during the summer and spent many winters in Arizona. In 2013 they moved to Dassel, MN. Don still went to Glencoe once a week for coffee with the guys.
Throughout the years, Don was an active church member as a Sunday School teacher and usher, and he was also a Cub Scout leader. He was a member of Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church in Cokato.
Don is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Terri Ebert, Luverne, MN, David (Jan) Jasperson, Rochester, MN, and Molly (Kurt) Schmidt, of Stewartville, MN, grandchildren, Jeff Barney, of Minneapolis, MN, Leah (Ryan) Frantzen, Langley, Mirren, and Cohen, of Woodbury, MN, Katie (Matt) Mostad, Charlie and Ingrid of Luverne, MN, Sarah (Paul) Zebe, Daphne and Gage, Adrian, MN, Amanda (Eric) Lammert, Luverne, MN, Emily Jasperson, Rochester, MN, Stephanie and Luke Schmidt, Stewartville, MN, Barbara’s children, Terri (DeWayne) Hanson, of Glencoe, MN, Randy (Charlotte) Bruns, of Glencoe, MN, and Lisa (Brian) Hayes, of St Louis Park, MN, and their children and grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Irene Jasperson, and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy, his daughter, Donna Barney, his parents, and his brother, Bernard Jasperson.

Doering, Gladys Florence 90
Gladys Doering of Howard Lake, passed away at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home of Howard Lake on October 2, 2017.
Funeral Service: 1 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. James Lutheran Church of Howard Lake.
Visitation: begins at church at 11 AM on Friday.
Interment: Woodland Township Cemetery
Gladys Florence Doering was born March 31, 1927 to Henry and Hilda Greenhagen at Howard Lake, Minnesota. A lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church she was baptized and confirmed there. In May of 1947, Gladys was married to Stanley Anderson. They had one daughter, Barb and resided on the Anderson family farm in Cokato until his passing.
In May of 1953, Gladys married Irving Doering. They resided on the Doering family farm in Woodland Township and had two sons, Wayne and Dale. They moved to their home on Howard Lake in 1966.
Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She worked many years at Tonka Toys in Mound and after retiring, worked part-time at Astro Mailers in Howard Lake.
When going on trips she enjoyed spending her nickels and pennies on gambling games. But most of all Gladys loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making them cheese macaroni and wieners for supper and CoCo Wheats for breakfast. Gladys enjoyed her free time sitting in her chair, listening to music, reading books, and playing solitaire.
It was on Monday, October 2, 2017, that Gladys passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Nursing Home having reached the age of 90.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Stanley Anderson and Irving Doering; parents, Henry and Hilda Greenhagen; brothers, Arnie, Alfred, Vern, Willie, Dwayne, and Rollie Greenhagen; sister, Dorothy (Greenhagen) Schostag; and granddaughter, Shannon Lorence.
Gladys is survived by her children, Barb (Dan) Lorence of Demming, New Mexico, Wayne (Mary) Doering of Cokato, and Dale (Jill) Doering of Waverly; sisters, Elaine Nelson and Vernice Bersie; grandchildren, Eric (Naomi) Lorence, Jessie (Joe) Keating, Sarah (Junior) Geislinger, Josh Doering, Joe Doering, Patsy Doering, and Frank Doering; twenty great- grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Gladys will be greatly missed, but was ready to go Home.
